Eva’s professional work is built around a single question: whether individuals, organisations, and corporations can be held to account for mass harm. She approaches this through litigation, documentation, and systemic advocacy, as a barrister and as the founder of hūmānus.
Eva is admitted to the NSW Bar and practises from Black Chambers, specialising in international criminal law and corporate accountability. She holds a position on the Justice Rapid Response expert roster, a mechanism that deploys criminal law specialists to international investigations and transitional justice processes.
Her forthcoming Book, Unravelling Hell, to be published by Cambridge University Press in 2026, draws on her years working on the frontlines of the Rohingya genocide crisis in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, and her journey to becoming the barrister for Rohingya leader Mohib Ullah, who was assassinated in the camps in 2021. It is her most sustained account of the painstaking work undertaken to document the widespread atrocities perpetrated against the Rohingya in 2017.

hūmānus is a lawyers’ collective founded and led by Eva, registered in the Netherlands as a stichting. The organisation operates accountability programmes globally working with survivors of mass human rights violations through litigation, documentation, and advocacy.
